Fun and Romantic Valentine’s Day Ideas for Couples

Valentine’s day is naturally meant for couples. It’s a time to show love towards the person you care for the most. It should also be a day of relaxation and fun with that person.

Finding ideas for couples on Valentine’s Day is quite easy as most Valentine’s Day activities are geared towards couples. But coming up with a creative idea to do with your special someone is not always so simple. As a start, here are some fun and romantic ideas to do on Valentine’s Day with your significant other.

Dining & Eating Out on Valentine’s Day

If you are a traditionalist, dinner and roses are probably your Valentine’s Day ritual. Why not kick it up a notch this year and put a little twist on tradition. Make dinner out an adventure. Steer clear of the crowds at your local Olive Garden and head to a cozy ethnic restaurant. The ambiance is usually very romantic and typically these more “hole in the wall” restaurants are less crowded.

Or, do a progressive meal, start with drinks at a fun bar, dinner at a cozy diner and coffee and dessert at home. Instead of showering her with roses, write her a handwritten letter that she can cherish for years to come. Save the rose petals for the bubble bath you draw her at night and make a little rose petal path to the bathtub. If flowers are a must and you are married, why not surprise her with a remake of her wedding boutique! You can continue to keep your “tradition” with just a few changes that will score major points!

Valentine’s Ideas for Parents

For tired and worn out parents needing to reconnect, take the whole day off of work. For couples with young children this can be precious time spent together. Take the kids to daycare or grandma’s house for the day and spend it together. Start the day off with breakfast out, which is usually more affordable than dinner out and you avoid the dinnertime crowds. Stroll some small antique shops or even the mall. Do something out of the ordinary like painting pottery. It might seem a bit corny but you may find that it’s a fun activity that will get you talking and provide a lot of laughs and good memories. Before you pick up the kids, end your day with a snuggly nap together. For parents who don’t feel they have enough time together this could be one of the greatest gifts you’ll ever give each other.

More Ideas for Valentine’s Day

For those who want to be completely romantic and creative, take your significant other out and reenact your first date. Do the exact same date you did on your first ever date. If this is too difficult to pull off, then do a date of “firsts”. Visit the place you first laid eyes on each other. Go eat dinner at your first date restaurant. Rent and watch the first movie you ever saw together. It’s a fun way to laugh and reminisce.

If you want to get away but can’t afford an expensive vacation, try just going to a local hotel or bed and breakfast to reconnect and get away from the hustle and bustle of your life. Many places if booked in advance offer Valentine Day specials. Going away together leaves the distractions of home behind. While you’re there, schedule a couple’s massage and totally pamper yourself while getting quality time in together.

Romantic ideas are abound on Valentine’s Day! Finding ideas for couples should not be a huge challenge as the holiday is geared towards romance. Get creative and above all else have fun with the one you love!
